Snow in August

The Beastie family have been on holiday. To get there, we got a train, then another train, then a bus, then a trolley bus through a mountain, then a funicular. After that, we walked across a dam, then got a cable car, then another bus through another mountain, then a flight on the back of a unicorn and finally, we arrived here. Wearing these. And saw this.

*sings* Funicular funicula, funicular funiculaaaaaaaaaah!

Beautiful photos! Is that on Mt. Fugi? And what is a funicular?

Err, go easy on the pschyotropic drugs, Bitch. It's not mount Fuji. It's Mount Oyama, which means Mount Honourable Mountain. A funicular is what you guys call either a rope way or a cable car. For Brits, a cable car dangles from a rope, while a funicular goes on tracks up a hill. We don't know what a ropeway is.

Or a gondola. Which, to us Brits, is a place where you eat Cornetto with Pavarotti.

ooh, i dont' like the dangly ropey ones. they make me nervous. i could deal with tracks on a hillside; much more civilized.

(ps. there's a song from an Italian opera called "Funiculi funicula," in case you were wondering where that particular psychotic episode came from.)
